Mine normally tells me that I just have a low range never tells me lower than like 60 miles

10 miles later, after the rural station I was counting on was out of gas, it said "Low Range".

My 05 truck and my wife's 04 Tahoe alarm "low fuel level" with 3 gallons in the tank. You could go 50 miles. I made it about 15 miles after the Low fuel alarm. Lesson learned. It was the first full tank I ran through since buying the car. Car said 19.1 mpg average. Calculated it to 18.6.

I actually ran out last week in Knoxville, Tn...Had to wait on TDOT to give me a gallon of gas. The trooper didn't find it funny when I asked if that was regular he had in his can.

One time I was coming home from work I got the Low Fuel Range.
About 20 miles late I got to the gas station by my house and filled up. I put 17 gallons of fuel into the car. Are tanks are 17.5 gallons.

I hate the low fuel range. I want to see miles to empty.

I learned my lesson a year ago when I thought I had enough to make it to the gas station and ran oout short of the station. Now, when I get the low fuel warning, I immediately stop for gas.

Yep, it was about 18 degrees and snowing when I left the hotel that morning....About 5 miles before I got to my destination the "Low Fuel" light came on. I stayed there for a couple hours and had planned to get gas when I left, well the road I got back on dropped me directly on to the Interstate and I went literally 4 miles, as soon as I got over in to the right lane to access the exit ramp..which was on an uphill slope...She chugged one time and shut off. I coasted about 15' and had to stop in a 7' wide lane less than 1/4 mile from the ramp. I woulda walked and gotten gas but it was at least another mile or so to the nearest station and it had warmed up to a balmy 22 deg and was now icing. Waited for 35 mins and they hooked me up....Now it hasn't been below 1/4 of a tank...GUNSHY
