Default 02 swtiching issue after Kooks full exhaust install

Has anyone else had a issuse with the both front 02 sensors after install long tube on a 2010 CTS v???? I have one in the shop with both banks front 02 sensors switch error codes. There is front 02 extentions, customer said after the shop installed the long tubes these codes came on.

Could it be that the 02 are bad just after the install? Or have you guys seens extention problem issues?

Thanks

Didnt have any issues when I did one. The fronts are a long ways away, you have to double up the extensions on the V2's.

Yeah there is one set of extentions for the front that go from the back of the head to the collector, then there is a rear 02 extention that are post cat.

I dont think the car is tuned, and I doubt that is the issue.

Do you have the 02s switched? The fronts with extensions should be plugged in the rears and the rears should be plugged in the fronts.

No they are in the correct places it has cats so no need to piggy back the rears and just use the fronts.

Well we covered the front 02 under warranty, if it comes back we will have to take the extentions out, or swap them with the back ones and see if the problem follows. Then we will know if the extentions are the problem.

I know what your saying but we also swap them on the cars we do with highflow cats because you are still removing some of the cats. So we run the fronts to the rears and the rears to the fronts on the cars with highflow cats just like we do on the cars we do with catless midpipes.

Worth a shot.

The wire length is only symptomatic. It has nothing to do with the wire length, it's because the sensors are farther down the exhaust stream and exhaust is cooler at that point.

The mixture (read: tune) can also have an effect. A richer exhaust will be cooler.

A quality coating (or wrap if you're in a dry climate) should always be considered with long tube headers.
