I've never had any work done with D3 but I have a lot of respect for them. The things they do with STS-V, XLR-Vs and CTS-Vs are awesome.

Its funny how many people here talk crap about them, and most have never had any work done with them. "Their prices are too high", "they never follow through with anything." Unlike most vendors they do not get the majority of their business from the forum. So they dont need to post every time they have a 600hp V. Their non forum customers have performance goal and dont mind paying to have the top Cadillac shop do it.

People love jumping on the "hater" band wagon.

Yes I totally agree with you whisler151 I could not have said it any better...

I have noticed that everyone that talks crap about D3... does not have there products because they cant afford it.

If your going to complain and say they are too expensive then sit there and say oh they dont have any proof of anything they do. What more do you want all the dyno sheets are posted...

If thats not good proof then they sit there and say well its cheating because its on dyno packs and not a dyno jet...(Now they are just pissed cauz it makes good power but they still have to cry about something)

LOOK at the overall Gain %%% not the numbers...

I am sick of hearing people talk crap about Shops not just D3...

If you cant afford the best then you should not be driving a Cadillac
Because Cadillac is the best. D3 makes the best products for them.

Dont put cheep products on a nice car ...They will only last so long

i have their spark plugs, does that count? haha. i do wish they made more off the self stuff for the V1, but it seems like most have been pulled. at least what i saw on their web page.

seriously, i dont love there Quad Tips. the V has no crank to start, has immediate spark and turns right over. and the car feels like she is burning everything a lot cleaner then with the other that were in there.

They "say" they make the best products for them.

And there's a difference between not being able to afford something and not wanting to spend 3x the price for no tangible benefit over another vendor's part.

I'll rephrase:

In my opinion, their prices are too high and they've never brought any part they've touted that I would be interested in to mass production.

That better?

They have a beautiful shop and probably do beautiful work, but if I can get the same quality work done for less than 1/2 the price at a shop nearby (I have several choices in my area), why would I, or anybody, pay them WAY more for the same work? If I lived in CA, maybe I'd feel differently.

I've yet to ever see a new CTS-V where I live (on the road or at the track) with D3 parts on it.

Maybe i am lukcy i live close to D3 and i go there and look at every product before I buy it.. i do this cuz I work hard for my money and i spend it wisely on top of that everyone at the shopis cool and are real racers and even took me to go to the trak when they are out there

I do agree that some the prices are higher then other manufacturers and shops....But..... wat other manufacturer offers apples to apples products i have seen it first hand all the stuff they make is engineered to the point were it is like an factory performance part waht other company offers Sfi approved pullies or intercoolers with AN Fitting and lines .. Diff coolers with AN Fittings and Lines.. CNC Billet Throttle bodies ... CNC cut lid spacers made from GM CAD Drawings.... Just like how Mercedes has carlsson/kleemn and BMW has aplina and **** like that... Well i personally am glad that cadillac has D3!

Oh and like i said before i look at everything before i buy its not really 3x the price you should look around and see .. the prices are really competitive for what im buying

I do my homework on products I know what i am buying

for example

Fastlane makes pulley kit$1005 For balancer $125 for the outer ring. $1,130 Its not SFI approved and its only 3.6 pounds lighter its not a bad pulley i just dont see that it worth my money when for a few bucks more i can get better

Now D3 Cadillac has a pulley kit

$1,195 for the pulley kit which includes the balancer outer ring and new Crank bolt Its SFI approved and its 5 pounds lighter

btw i hope your not one of those suckers that pays msrp for everything...anyhow when i comes down to it everyone has there fav shops and d3 is mine

ps..... back to the op tpoic i cant get that red car out of mind that **** was bananas

Hype if you think good proof is dyno sheets then I made 500hp and will run 10s. Anyone can make 1200hp with enough money. Fact of the matter is a well put together 800 hp combo can potentially walk a not thought out 1200hp car. Not saying anything about d3 but proof is consistency and useable power to me. If someone runs 9.50 once and backs it up with 5 10.80 passes.... It's a 10.80 car in my opinion

You are correct

There is useable power and unuseable power what it comes down to is your drag or track setup if you setup the car to put down 1200 hp then its useable... But it also comes down to the driver if you dont know how to drive then its waste of power...

i think with there set ups, it will all depend on how you plan to use the power. the V will never be a great drag car. considering what most buy the car for (ie, luxury, comfortable drive, and great power when you need it). but for every day street driving, you may not need 1000+ hp, but damn does it feel good when you are half throttle and screaming.

The issue that most of the "haters" jump on the D3 wagon is that they claim they are blue printed, engineered, blah blah blah. Yet they will not back it up. They quoted one person 2 grand for a lower pulley, yet I got mine for 800... (not d3) I can afford their parts and their prices, but I won't spend the money for this "better product" when all that is said is it's better. It's just like me telling you I have some Ocean Front property in Kansas i'll sell you at a deal.

I agree with what GNXS said. also I'm not sure what the price is, but I was just quoted for a 2.3 L from KPE was 9-10 grand, not installed. So... when I get D3's price I'll chime in. Yeah I could buy that, but that kind of money I'd rather do other things. This is still my DD, and just to buy a better flowing blower doesn't do much for me, since I don't want 1000hp in a DD lol

Dude the 800 dollar pulley you got is a piece of **** its not sfi approved and its not lightweight.. you cant even compare that to a d3 pulley or even a fast lane pulley.. hell even the lingenfeilter pulley...

....Domsz06 KPE was supposed to do a 1000hp car too, but we never heard anything about it....
You such a dumb $.hit why would you want a quote from a company thats never proved they have that dam thing running right... it was just a big hype oh they have a 1000 hp v (no pictures no video ("like you said you never heard anything about it")...

I was at sema their cars were just sitting ugly with the hoods closed .... If they had anything to show their hoods would be open proudly.I seen kpe on the strip it just had a loud exhaust he got on it and it didn't move like a 1000 hp car

Honestly You dont even deserve anything from D3 so dont bother getting a quote cauz most likely its going to be double and then your going to sit there and talk crap about something you cant afford.

Doms not only owns a 2nd gen CTS-V, but I believe he also owns a C6 Z06. I think he can afford D3 parts without breaking a sweat and I think he might know something about going fast. BTW, do you even own a 2009+ V?

Many crank pulley kits use the Innovator's West Hub and Metco lower pullies. They're installed on hundreds of "V"'s and have never had any issues. In fact the Metco lower pullies for my Cobra are interchangeable with the CTS-V pullies. Both of these companies have been making these types of parts for a long time and have a proven track and reliability record.

In the meantime, I'll wait to see if any of these D3 parts or cars ever do wind up "Coming To a Dragstrip Near You", as the OP claims. So far I've yet to even see any D3 car publicly go faster than my relatively lightly modded "V". Here's a thread you made:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/cadillac-...out-video.html

Their car with that laundry list of mods runs .3 slower in the 1/8th mile than I have AND the mod list on that car cost the owner AT LEAST double what I have in my car.

Like I may or may not have said earlier, I'm not hating on D3. I'd just like to see alot more of their dyno queens put up some real world numbers. Then their boasting of the superiority of many of their products might hold a little more merit. I've heard about alot of their projects from way back when I owned my STS-V, yet these projects never seem to see the light of day for the potential customer. Nobody would be happier if they put together an affordable twin-screw setup for these cars than I would (with a nice 2.8 or 3.6 KB or 2.9 Whipple). And if they didn't try to gouge me on the price, I'd be one of their first customers.

P.S. - Did any of DomsZ06's posts in this thread really warrant the insults you hurled in the post above?

wow, you know so much there don't you. First off do you even know what SFI stands for?

So you would rather buy from a company that has been around a few years, but has lots of cool looking mods? Metco has been around since superchargers were born, pretty sure they know their stuff. Also it is lighter then the stock one, so once again it's a win. (It weighs the same as d3's if you care)

Please explain to me how D3 is so much better then Lingenfeilter, Metco, Inovator west, or Fast lane. Where is there documentation? They have NEVER docummented it is SFI approved, they have NEVER done a stress test, they have Never run faster then the 11's that I have seen. Innovator west is SFI approved just fyi... Looking through the SFI foundation I dont' see d3 on there at all.

guy just ran 9's on parts from W4M, CB runs 10's all day long with parts from W4M

So have you heard anything about D3's? so far all you have heard about their's is the same as KPE. If you follow D3 at all you notice they always talk about things but don't always come out with it. There is a lot of people that all feel the same way I do about D3 and their Products. I could care less if you like them, that's great. I wasn't starting this as another bashing thread, just simply a thread that I will believe it when I see it. And for 99% of the people out there they won't buy it because d3 will charge an arm and a leg for it.

I was at sema their cars were just sitting ugly with the hoods closed .... If they had anything to show their hoods would be open proudly.I seen kpe on the strip it just had a loud exhaust he got on it and it didn't move like a 1000 hp car

You quoted the wrong person here buddy. I could buy anything from D3, and in fact I'm actually looking at the CAI for my v2 since I like the way it looks, and it supposedly has good numbers.

If you dont want a 1000hp then why the heck are you out here talking crap and getting quotes for no reason.. Sounds like your just a forum maggot calling around getting quotes and talking crap.
Maggot eh? Sounds to me that your that. Your the one calling names and spouting off crap you have no idea what your talking about. If you would actually read instead of just scanning and looking at what you want I never said anything about d3 other then I'll believe it when I see it. I also said I doin't like their products because they claim all of this big bad engineering and blueprinting for their high prices, yet when we ask them to show us the specs and proof of it they never even reply back. Call it what you will, but smells fishy to me.

Just because I dont' want 1000 hp doesn't mean I dont' want to know what goes into it and how they did it. We all learn from things and can take it for what it is and use this in all of our cars. I don't want 1000hp in this car right now... but who knows what I might want in the future.

I'm also with a lot of other people on this and other forums that would LOVE to buy stuff from D3, if it came out and if it preformed. They had so many issues with the lowering springs, that went unaddressed, they showed us bad to the bond shifter paddles they were going to produce, and nothing, they showed us some SWEET wheels for the V2, yet when a customer got them they looked nothing remotely close... The list goes on. If they came up with a bad to the bone 2.3 or 2.8 S/C there are probably 500 people on the other forum that would buy it, as long as it wasn't 10+ grand (like I was told by their sales person it would be), and they actually backed up the product with tests, runs, and cold hard data.

@GNXS, thanks buddy
