Default master cylinder replacement

So I got my old master disconnected from the clutch and slave, and I can't for the life of me get this old slave to turn. I read in the service manual to turn it 1/8th of a turn clockwise, but it will NOT turn enough to get it to come out. Anyone have any tips on this?

Also, to bench bleed it, I was thinking of getting it secured in the car, putting fluid in the res, leaving the slave connection apart, and pumping the clutch pedal until I get fluid out of the bottom, then connecting it to the slave. Good or bad idea?

I had to unscrew the line that goes to the slave. Its an 18 or 19 I believe were it screws into the master. That was the only way I could get it to rotate far enough to come out. Getting the line back on the new one is fun. Also, when rotating the master to lock it back in, I had to use a pair of channel locks to turn mine.

The booster is probably a pain in the *** but you can pull the brake master off the booster with 2 or 4 nuts. I don't recall. I pulled the coolant tank out and pulled the master off the booster when I did mine as well. I guess I should have mentioned that as well. I left all the brake lines on just slightly pulled it out of the way.
