question, why didnt you just ditch the factory HU and run the one alpine? Some of the features would be lost but it would give you a cleaner setup.

I like the factory big screen. I know I could have converted it to the other thin DIC display and wouldnt have had to "cut up" my perfectly good working factory HU but like I said I like the big factory screen and all the info that it displays.

I will probably run fully off the Alpine HU in the future but I'm happy for now. This was a quick fix to my problem I had at the moment. It will look a lot cleaner when I'm done filling and molding the gaps that you see.

I may switch mine to aftermarket eventually but I think the factory screen fits the dash so well I didn't wanna mess up the look.

JBL W15GTi's.

Those jackhammers are all hype. I've listened to them before, and while they did get moderately loud, they sounded like total ****.

JBL MS-8

I'm thinking about ordering one of those to try it out on the stock set up. Maybe someone else here can make the plunge instead :p

And a 4 gauge amp wiring kit.

Yeah, i heard the jackhammers were all hype. I only ran this Boston G5 because i found it cheap through a buddy in the box. I looked up the specs and reviews and everything looked good. They ranked it between the JL W6 and W7 line in comparison. I picked up the JL 500.1 almost brand new for pretty cheap too. Its pretty loud but not too crazy. Its enough for me and i like that it doesn't completely overpower the factory bose components.

honestly i'd rather take your boston woofer over the W7. I've never been a huge fan of JL, and I have always been pretty into boston acoustics.

Yeah man, I had a set of their Z6 components in my old crewcab and they were amazing! I had just never looked at their sub line. I'm happy with it though. Sound quality is awesome!
