Default E-brake cable removal from cradle

Just as it says - anyone have any tips for releasing the cable from the cradle?

There's a joining point in the center of the cradle right behind the diff location, but in the 10 minutes I looked at it I don't see any easy way to release it...

Suggestions?

I put a screwdriver in behind the cable (opposite the opening slot) lengthwise with the cable and pulled. That forced the cable through the slot.

I haven't tried to put it back though..., that will be the trick.
