Don't get too alarmed about the lack of red color of the ATF after some use. It is only a dye and factory service manuals address that the color may not be an indicator of the fluid's condition. I always like to drain out the original fluid after everything has broke-in to get all the "loose" material out.

Bringing up an older thread, but noticed the Owner's Manual calls out for Dexron VI (I have a 2007) on the V transmissions [T-56], yet there is still a sticker that calls out Dexron III on the transmission.

Didn't mention anything about needing to be synthetic (like my '06 GTO did specify) though, so trying to debate what to put in there. Want to do it this weekend and I have 2 full qts. of III sitting on my shelf. Wonder if I mixed it?

I can't believe how much oils have gone up, so don't want to waste $$$ on something I shouldn't be using...Were there any concrete 'evidence' that VI wrecks things in the transmissions (the versions they call for that fluid), or is this mostly internet hearsay?
