Satan laughs at the people who fall in love with this vehicle....

Are you going to write up your saga in the next issue of Excellence...

K. So I can get my money back out of the bad diff. That's nice. Plus I can get my money (I am assuming here) out of the bad driveshaft.

So now I've priced a new diff from Luke @ Lindsey for $1650 shipped. Seem like the best option?

Sure wish I had time to buy the 8.8 or 9...

I have a full 9" kit with 3.89's in the diff sitting in my garage for install this weekend...

For the right price (profit) I could put it off for another month and re-sell it.

Before I spent $1650 on a new one i'd look at greddy's used stocker or Gforce's 2 piece for $999 http://www.shop.gforce1320.com/produ...&categoryId=61

Is this one requiring cutting? Email me at jared@jaredcullop.com if you are serious.

For the right price (profit) I could put it off for another month and re-sell it.

I think you thought I was talking about the driveshaft. It's the diff that I need.

Thanks DMM. ME TOO!

Although I very much considered just going with the Creative Steel setup for $4500 (Ford 8.8), I think I'm likely to just get the new diff from Luke. That puts me in approx $3500-$3800 to fix this including all the braces and bushings that I already now have.

Anyone think of a better solution?

One comment on new diffs.

Some of them are really loud. I had mine replaced at Lindsay under warranty a year ago because of noise on my original 04 Diff. The new one is 3-4 times as loud .

If I was paying out of my own pocket I would go with a 9".

Happy Easter, fellas.

There are quite a few guys on here who say that they have never seen a Gen 4 diff grenaded. I'd imagine this was all the more rare with beefy axles. So since I already have Hendrix axles, and the quickest way for me to get my car back on the road is to get the new diff from Lindsay, I'm going to do that and hopefully be back on the road in a few days. Thanks for all your help.

Jared

That's what I'm betting on. New diff will be here Wed or Thurs. We'll have it in stat and check it out! I'll let you guys know. Will have pics of install too.
