Default Oil Temp sensor

Alright, trying to track down a part number on one of these things, I have already worked with the ground point under the hood strut, and yet I am still getting the damn bongs, so I want to try replacing the sensor next, though I cant seem to find out what GM actually called it

There was apparently a software upgrade to fix high readings(and warning lamp activation) way back when for the 04 model... I'd think your car got it, but if not...

They probably call it the oil sender or even oil pressure sender and maybe the oil switch or guage. If you don't get a defnite answer, surely the part dept. at Cadillac will tell you.

It is integrated into the oil level sensor on the R/H side of the oil pan.

Mine is an 04 and I had the oil temp alerts frequently, which was driving me nuts. It usually happened in traffic or during spirited driving.

I recently took it to the dealer referencing the TSB for the software fix. The TSB was only for early model 2004's. That solved the problem for me.

Any before April 14th, I think. Somewhere right around then.

Donno that there's a cost, but maybe by now. I think it was a TSB thing, but that was late '04. It's not a retune though... Just a flash to work with that item... from what I read.

Eh... Just looked it up online... http://www.cadillacfaq.com/faq/answers/oilguage.html

I just started getting this lovely little warning today.

Gotta love the '04's.

We should just leave it alone, and we'll have a meet, and just let the car bong the whole time...

Annoying as hell.

In response to the questions,

It is applicable to builds prior to VIN breakpoint 40181396 and a build date of 4/14/04.

Reference TSB #04-08-49-017A
Labor operation: N4199 (.4 hours labor)

They charged me around $90 for the fix.
