Default armor coating on pacesetter long tubes?

Anyone who has them or doesnt, is the armor coating on the inside and out or just the outside of the headers? I ask because if its only outside i have a friend who can coat them for me and i can save money on them.

thanks...

I called them (Pacesetter) when the headers first came out, and the Armor Coating is ONLY THE OUTSIDE.

Its a whole can of worms on here, but I strongly beleive inside and out should be done for full benefit.

I have them, very good header for the money. Coating is on the outside only. They are literally COOL ~80* in 10-15 minutes after running the car. And while running they're not even that hot... Ide be happy either route.

I have my kooks headers coated inside and out, but I doubt it made much of a difference.

Sweet, thanks guys. I was on amazon the other night and found the uncoated ones for 261 shipped and the armor coated ones were 370...so i was gonna take them to a buddy and have them coated for cheaper. The connecting pipes were like 60 bucks also, so i figured either way 321 shipped or 430 shipped didnt seam that bad...plus the armor coated ones were out of stock...

thanks again guys,

Yeah, unless it's a turbo manifold or header, coating inside and out is the way to go, as it'll try to eat itself from the inside out (condensation and heat/cooling cycles, plus can't imagine exhaust is all that 'clean' for the metal). Reason I mention no turbo application is just in case it starts chipping off, you don't want that crap on the compressor wheel!

With that said, I would get it done by a good coating place, such as www.swaintech.com; a little pricier, but good stuff. There are a couple others that are good too, but also some that aren't as good and this is something I'd want to do once and be done with it.

I can't comment on the pacesetter's vendor that does the ceramic (maybe it's in house), but judging by the prices, I would say it's 'OK', but not premium. I am glad I passed on the optional ceramic coating on my FP manifold (vr4), as I've heard it's not that great, so not sure if that is more typical on header/manifold manufacturer's coating, or not.
