Lets do this.

EDIT: It's done! Huge thanks to Oliver for his help...ok...he did it all. So I'm back home fixing the sink so I can say I used tools. Car feels amazing! Can't wait to have more fun with it at the track. I won't have to work as hard.

Money well spent.

What's the point of the 1/8" roll pin through the base? Only read through page 4 and didn't see where it mentioned it.

The shifter is a two piece shifter that has rubber in between. Some factory shifters have known to seperate. This is just an extra measure I have added b/c when I weld the whole shifter gets hot and seperates/loosens the two pieces.

Dude thanks for sharing...I've used this technique for changing the shifter back in the day w/o dropping anything...but I never realized I could change out the stock bushings from the top. I've had new UUC bushing just sitting around because i didn't want to do all the work described in this link: http://cadillacfaq.com/faq/answers/mshifter/index.html

This new link you found will save so much time, Thanks!

Ah, thank you very much! I haven't taken it apart (new to the V game) and wasn't sure, but that makes perfect since.

Oliver - received and installed this weekend. Old one going in the mail today or tomorrow. Thanks again!

What a huge difference. After having a C5 Corvette and 04 V (both stock shifters) I had no idea what a tremec is supposed to feel like. I now know. To anyone that has a stocker in their V...change it now.

The instructions were great although the bottom bolt, which is very difficult to reach with both hands when you have large aftermarket exhaust, was rusted and locked in pretty good. This 2 hour job took me closer to 4, but time well spent.

Went with a Hurst screw on ball type **** so I can change out easily. Looks awesome and did I mention it drives like a new car. I fell in love with my car all over again this weekend.

Took some time, beat up knucles, WD40, and about a 12 pack, but I got mine in this weekend with the top set of instructions. No need to remove anything under the car.

So how's the new bearing feel? I have a azn2dmax shifter but reverse can be a challenge lately. I hoping this really firms it up.
