Default Quick question guys... Having an issue with the V...

Ok... For some reason my temp sensor stopped working. I changed my battery today as my old one crashed and I replaced it with an optima red top. Since then, my temp gauge has gone haywire. When I turn the car on, it begins to register right at first and then shuts off and goes to zero and blank on the digital display. I thought maybe I knocked the plug loose on the sensor but it was fine. Then I figured it was a coincidence and the temp sensor must have gone bad so I replaced it and it still does the same thing. What else would cause it to begin to register and then cut off and not register any reading at all?

Weird. My oil temp sensor reads crazy under light loads. Sometimes it shoots up to 320 then drops to 270 in under a second. My car throws on the oil temp warnings and crap so the beeping gets annoying. It's weird too because the engine bay gets much much hotter even though there's no load at all on the motor but when I'm cruising at normal speeds its fine. Go figure O_o

Noone else has experienced this? I'm going to try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery but I'm really doubting that will fix it.

Try leaving the battery disconnected for about 10 minutes to reset the computer.

Mine is exhibiting these exact symptoms. the gauge will work for roughly 5-10 seconds on start up and then quit working. I just cleaned the ground contact under the hood strut and had the battery disconnected. It was working fine after cleaning the ground contact and reconnecting the battery, drove it for about 15-20 min and out of no where the gauge drops out and the digital display for coolant temperature stop displaying temp (all other indicators like oil pressure, tpms, oil temp, lat g's, trans temp are working).

Anyone who had/have had this issue, how did you resolve it?
