I didn't crimp or solder directly to the wires in the car....

bought one of those...all the pins inside come separate (see pics)....I crimped those onto the phone cord and put some heat shrink around it.



The two middle wires are what provide power to the detector, when you look at the cord as in the picture below the wire to the left is positive. This is not always green, as phone cord wire mirrors the wires on the opposite side of the connector.



As far as wiring that to the car...move your rear view mirror down/left (whatever way so you can see/unplug the connector that goes to the back of it)

With a multimeter/test light find 12v and ground then shove the ends of your newly made wire in the back of that connector. Little bit of electrical tape to hold the wire in and your done.

So in general, maybe a 3 or 4 difficulty.

LIDAR SUCKS! The only up side to laser is officers cant run it in the rain! A V in the rain, at a high rate of speed (100+) creates a hell of a rooster tail on the highway
