Well after months of saving money, waiting for parts, and waiting to get on the install schedule. I am finally dropping the car off tonight, to start getting worked on tomorrow. I got the Livernois Stage 2R cam (236/236 LSA 113)
The car dyno'd untuned after the headers at 359 rwhp and 349 rwtq. Any guesses on what the numbers are gonna be when it's finished?

I'm looking at options as well. I want a nice stout sounding cam that makes good power across the entire range (if thats possible). I was looking into the MS4 but it's a daily and although people have done it, I don't want anything too crazy.
On a side note, what should one expect to spend on some port work on stock heads? I was looking at aftermarket heads but just don't wanna spend the money. It's not a race car. A little port work and a nice cam will make me happy.

Advanced induction or TEA charge around 1000 without new valve springs. Some people have gained 40rwhp with ported heads on a camemd motor though.
If you do ported heads you dont have to go with a big cam to make great power, they usually spec smaller cams for aftermarket heads or ported ones.

I'm honestly more concerned with making the car sound ridiculous. Lol of course I want more power as well but it's just my daily. I'd rather have a big *** cam and save the money if porting the heads is going to make a smaller cam more ideal. May sound like I have my priorities backwards but I intend to buy a fast weekend car as my toy so I'm not worried about making the V a monster. I just want it to sound like one and look good.

Ok. I'll hunt around for some info and search through more clips online. My buddy had the HPE stage 2 heads and stage 2 cam on his V. Sounded pretty nasty but that cam seemed to only make power after 3k rpm. Not bad but if I can find something that could get in the power range a little sooner, I'd be happy.

Both those cars sound bad *** and both of them lope hard enough to make me happy. I think that cam in the SS sounds a little bigger to me but not by much. Ill prob go with a torque/mid range cam in this car since it's typically between 2k-4k rpms. Rarely do I wind it out but as long as the power doesn't dump off up top, I'll be satisfied. Like u said, I'm a heavy car like this, that torque and mid-range power will really help get it moving!

WOW!! that sounds really good. Got me thinking now...
Here is a 228R cam but on a 110lsa. That will make loads of torque and low end power with a strong midrange, perfect for a 3850lb sedan on the street. Does this "sound" big enough for you. ![Grin](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_grin.gif)

Yeah... That camaro has me hooked too! Especially if it sounds like that and makes good power down low and solid torque numbers. That's where I think we'd really see and appreciate the gain more on a daily driver. High end power is great if you plan to spend majority of your time between 3-7k rpms but if not, you'll hardly see the powerband with a high range cam.
