lol, I dont think 285rwhp = 111 mph... lol, was there any interior at all? - that would have to weight under 2800. I call bull on that one.
if this 'lamer' car your talking about did pull out 111.. LIES on the rwhp or a gutted car.
True, the 4v does wake up with mods! nice curve... but overall the motor is tapped out in general just talking in general not specificly this.. hence why they finally went back to the better 5.0.

People could say the same about the LS6 and the switch to the LS2,3,7. It's just a race. Run what you brung, but never underestimate the competition.
Why anyone gets all up at arms about bench racing is beyond me...

Your V should win especially from a roll...May be more interesting from a Dig.

I owned a 1996 cobra. with a bunch of mods too, gears etc.... my 1999 ls1 always took it from both being stock, to modding up both. so... comparing the 4.6 to any LS ... thats my point.

My previous car to the V was a full bolt on 01' cobra, EPIK's was a full bolt on 03' Mach 1.... I know what these motors can do. Realistically it SHOULD be a good race, me edging out as we go faster.
he just text me. HE WANTS TO DO A 3rd GEAR 70mph ROLL.....?????? WTF!?

Not gutted, and not under 2800 lbs. Scale showed 3134 with me in it. I have dyno sheets and numerous time slips, and no, I'm not going thru the hassle of scanning and posting them. If you don't believe, nobody is asking you to.

I agree, never underestimate... but you can at least ESTIMATE better than what others ESTIMATE yours does...
could say what about LS6 vs LS7 ?
Im not here to argue, just pointing out MY experiences with my 1996 4.6L (quad cam crap)
anyways... good race no matter what Frick!

No problem, not up all in arms, the OP wants to post Specs of 2 cars and then ask the IF statement... you need to throw around specs and comparisons.

That's exactly why I posted up MY experiences with an N/A 4.6. I know fully well what an LSx engine is capable of, but I also know what a 4.6 can be capable of with the right mods, and with the right driver. I'm sorry you didn't care for yours much, but I love my outdated 2v, and I'm sure I'll love my LS6 just as well when I pick one up.
The point of my posts is that I think it'll be more close of a race than most people think...well not anymore since they're going from a 70 MPH roll in 3rd. Race, have fun, and don't get caught!

LS6 was not replaced for performance reasons. It was replaced as it was more cost effective to put the LS2 in everything as it was based on their truck motors which they sold a lot of. The LS6 was only in the limited production C5Z. Hence the switch. Obviously the LS7 came about to compete with 8+l viper motors.

My cammed SS easily walked my cousins vortech 97 cobra a few years back. I had stock 3:42 gears and a big cam too. He had 4:10's as well. I was never impressed with the NA 4.6L motors. I have owned a Terminator too.

Where are the VIDS...... TOO much bitching and moaning. Not enough racing.
There is a blue Mach1 rolling around where i live with unknown mods but I see a racing fuel tank mounted in the rear so I will assume WELL modded.
Its a street race, can go either way. Hemightbe hiding spray.
Run for fun and dont put money on the line your not ready to lose.

While I love the LS series of engines. Light wieght and able to produce a LOT of power. I will not however say its the BEST engine ever. Nor will it win on its own merits everytime. Sometimes you need more than just displacement... Like to run a big turbo built evo... Like maybe nitrous and a SCer.
LOL Im bored
