So... I'm supposed to race a Mach 1 tonight...

Maybe it was different for the Snakes, but the 99-04 Mustang GT had IMPROVED cams and intake manifolds over the 96-98 GT's. I know this for a fact. I swapped the "PI" (power improved) cams and intake into my 96 GT for about a 30 rwhp gain. That plus shorty headers, cat back, and a k&n FIPK intake ALMOST got it to 220 hp at the wheels.
... I love my caddy. lol

I had an 86 Mustang with high port TFS heads, 11:1 , long tubes, Cammed (can’t remember the specs) 3.73, etc. Weighed 3200 lbs with a full tank of gas. (I weighed it at work)
I retired that car round 2001. Every time I raced a 4.6 I destroyed it. Maybe I never ran into the next gen 4.6. His Mach 1 ran well.

I made 5 runs against an 03 Mach 1 in a 1/8 track....Lost EVERY TIME!...And yes I did pull the driver mod. I made 3 passes and 2 other buddies made one each..Both have SS Camaros. I was within .3 on 2 of the runs, but simply couldn't reel him in. We pulled out on the 4 lane and made 3 pulls, 2 from 40 and one from 25...I walked him on every roll run. I guess the problems lies in the fact that my best 60' was 2.50. GOOD RUNS to the OP.

Looked like fun! I'm not doggin the forum at all for this, but I'm surprised to see that they allow street racing postings like this. I used to be a Mustang guy (it looked nice and sounded good, but about as fast as a 91 Prelude....LOL) and I was a member on about 5 different Mustang forums. None would allow any posts related to street racing, it was basically instantly closed/deleted.
Anyway, OP, your car has peaked my interest in cammnig. From what I see in your sig, you haven't done any head/intake work besides pushrods and valve springs, right? Were those necessary, or can a cam be tossed in there with a tune and headers and be safe/reliable? Also, mind me asking what I could expect to spend for something similar to what you've got? I'd love to get to a 'real' (wheel) 400 hp without having to maggie her...

Who said he was on the street? He just said his buddy wanted to race!
For all we know, it's private property *shrug*
Good win, I always hate the losses where they're just pulling away by that little bit lol

The video from the Mach is easier to see the tail lights of the Caddy and by how much you pulled him. Thanks for winning one for the boys. I was up at the Scottsdale Pavillions tonight, got there early and parked next to a GXP and within 2 hours was surrounded by 20 Mustangs. Dime a dozen. Glad I have a V!
