Yeah, quickest lap (per the Chase Cam timing) was 2:14.4, which is a bit faster than I've run in the past. I'm running the Grand Am Continental take-offs.
I remember. It would definitely be good to see another V out there - I think the last time I saw another V was at the V Days!

Some day, I'd like to do another ACNA PCC VIR event...been since April 2007. So many changes since then.
Question: do you run ½ to 1 qt. extra oil? I've heard some people do and that the V burns it at the track. I have been. I don't see it burning any. Usually need to remove at least what I put in.

Yes, I run extra, but not because the engine uses oil. LS motors are known to have oil control issues that can result in low oil pressure in high G situations. The LS6s are supposed to be about the best of the bunch as far as that goes, but they're not immune. On the second day of the event I cut my 3rd session short and skipped my 4th session because I got 2 oil pressure alarms under heavy braking in that 3rd session. I was running somewhere between 1/2 and 1qt extra, but I think it had used a bit of oil over the first 6 sessions. I hadn't really been paying attention to how far above the FULL mark the oil level was, but in hindsight I think it had dropped, and I guess got low enough to start to become a problem.

It's a ChaseCam non-HD setup, with their data module to datalog the GPS and OBDII. This being the first event of the season, I of course forgot one of the cables I needed , so I could only run the single camera (normally I have 2 cameras with a little PIP action going on).

I did a track event with my brother over in England back in 2007 and they did the turn signal thing over there.

I did my first event of 2016 a week and a half ago and have some new videos to share, but figured I should do some catching up first.
June 2014 @ VIR with Chin Motorsports:
First, just a generic video of some laps:
From the same event, chasing down a new Z/28. And by "new" I mean "brand new" - I talked to the owner after this and he said it had "100 miles plus whatever I've put on it today". Oh, and it was his first time @ VIR, so that tempered my enthusiasm about catching him a bit.
June 2014 @ Summit Point. This was the weekend after the event above. I had picked up a ReplayXD 1080Mini HD camera while I was at VIR, and had fiddled with it a little bit at that VIR event, but this Summit event was the first opportunity to really play with it. So, all of the data (GPS, g-sensor, OBDII inputs) are embedded in the SD video file that I get from my older Chase Cam DVR, and then the HD video comes from the ReplayXD camera. Those then get combined in Dashware, which is Chase Cam's video processing software. When I initially did this event back in 2014 I hadn't figured out a good way to combine the two sources; I have now figured out that it's actually pretty easy to sync up the HD video and the data file in Dashware, so I actually went back and re-captured this video clip to get the HD.
November 2014 @ VIR with Trackdaze. I try to get to this event every year, as it's one of the few opportunities to run the longer Grand Course. This clip is from the start of one of the sessions, so the run group is still pretty bunched up and I was picking people off left and right. I'll warn you now that the audio sucks - very choppy due to a low mic battery.
2015 was a slow year for track events. I'm pretty sure I got to an event or two in the spring, but if I did, apparently I didn't capture any video. So, nothing to report from 2015.
Which brings us to my first event of 2016 - June 2016 @ VIR, once again with Chin Motorsports. I was in the advanced group, as I normally am, but this seemed like an exceptionally fast advanced group! There were 2 open-wheel cars, a couple of Viper ACRs, a couple cars (Cayman & 911) from the Rebel Rock racing team (an IMSA team), an Ariel Atom, etc.
(I messed up and didn't upload this one as HD)
(this one is HD)
Next up is a trip to Summit Point the first weekend in July, and after that I'm not sure. I'm hoping to get up to Watkins Glen this year - I haven't been there since 2001, and that was in a ~185hp Subaru, so the V would be an entirely new experience. I actually got a ride-along in a new C5 Z06 at that event, my first taste of LS powah!

Just noticed this thread. Love the videos--especially the one with the suspension/brake cam PIP. I fear I could spend an entire afternoon watching rotors heat cycle. I almost expect my mom to come around the corner telling me to stop sitting so close to the TV(monitor/phone/tablet these days).
Definitely inspiration to get my fat butt back out in the heat tomorrow and make some progress on my own pile of parts.

Thanks!
One of the downsides of shifting to HD is that now I've only got the single camera. It was nice to be able to do the picture-in-picture thing with the 2 SD cameras, so I could have a rearview shot to show what was coming up behind me or how quickly I was leaving someone after they let me by.
