Too much for the alternator and zero for the install. I went through this fiasco a few weeks ago.

Pull the intake/airbox out, remove the bolts that hold on the power steering pump and it will rotate out of the way to the area the airbox sits. I removed the bracket that held on the idler pulley too. After that, the alternator is easy to get to.

Your ONLY options for replacement are the $500 alternator through Caddi or a cheap replacement from Auto-crap-zone. Nobody can rebuild them because Cadillac owns the rights to the parts from Denso.

You can get a Remy reman for $265 + $70 core on Rockauto.com. Plus another 5% off using a discount coupon.

That was my first choice (but from a local shop) and it just never showed up because Remy failed to mention they were out of stock for the forseeable future..lol.

Yeah I usually buy from Rock Auto and probably should have from the beginning, but I was in a hurry to get my car back on the road and it wound up taking a lot longer in the end...but I did get a good deal on the el-cheapo model. Its got a good warranty so if it breaks (which it probably will), I'll at least be covered.
