Default Front grill question

Does anyone know if the mounting surface for the front grill emblem is flat or curved? I'm making new emblems for the 2004-2007 CTS-V and needed to know.

Do you guys know if a flat emblem would work on the mouting area on the front grill? I'm worried the indented are may throw if off.
