Default Using the washer fluid tank for Meth Injection

Is it better to just use a dedicated methanol tank for meth injection or to share with the wiper tank? It seems like the OEM washer fluid tank is quite large. I was thinking of using the Cooling mist stage 1 recirculation kit. Any suggestions?

You know what. I just asked this to my shop when I was just recently there. He said yeah. You can use a separate tank, but it's gonna cost you more. He said most people go with the windshield wiper tank because it's so big.

That's what I figured. I'm pretty sure the cts tank is massive.

If you guys are looking for tanks Jeff at Howerton engineering is the guy to talk to. He did all the WI stuff on my BMW. Last time I was at his shop we were discussing building a tank in the spare tire well for the gen 1's .

Haha, I did indeed see that. But also because the v1 has such a large washer fluid tank.

Personally I'd do a trunk mounted 3 gallon tank. I can't give up windshield washer fluid. AIS makes a great kit.

I saw this on horsepower tv this morning too. Lol, do you guys think it's be worth doing on an NA car? It didn't seem like it from the episode. What dou you think it would do for fuel mileage?

The real benefit of the meth is it lets you run more timing and keeps IATs down. This is much more advantageous on a forced induction car. I dont know what i would net on a NA car... although they (HPTV) showed you could run lower octane gas and get the same power but they were at like 40 degrees..

Man thats a great write up! Thanks for posting that. I live in central Texas so i could definitely use some cooler IAT on 110 degree days. Car runs like a volkswagon when its that hot. lol. Does anyone know of a downside to meth injection?

Here is the setup from my BMW. I spray a crap-ton of 75% methanol and 25% water using an aquamist HFS-3. Meth is a great tool for FI as it can bring IAT's back down to ambient. A progressive system is best as it injects meth based on the engines needs.

I use the washer tank. By using the washer tank you also get the added benefit of having a low fluid warning although mine has never come on as I never let it get that low. Alcohol and water seems to clean my windshield fine.

Why give it up? Just use 50/50 mix and you can inject it and spray it on your windshield.

OP I am going to use mine when I get around to installing it. The only potential problem I thought of is the pump not being lower than the tank. Although I believe its close enough not to matter. Twitch is using his ww tank for meth.

Have you found a location for mounting the pump yet? I haven't really looks to see how much room is there.
