Default TVS1900 + Cam + TB - Looking for Advice

Here's what I'm planning on buying:

1. The Lingenfelter TVS1900 package for the LS2 CTS-V ($6800 if I do the installation).

2. A new OEM LS7 90mm throttle body ($150), and have it ported, polished, and powdercoated by this guy ($90).

3. A custom-ground camshaft. I'm afraid of affecting my gas mileage. I'll definitely be consulting my tuner, but I'd like to hear your thoughts as well as suggestions regarding places that I can call to get a second opinion. If you don't think a cam is worth it, let me know. I'm also interested in your experiences in terms of springs and rods.

If you have any advice, please let me know. My budget is $8000, and I'm looking to hit 475/475 on this car AND drive it another 100,000 miles (22k currently). This is my first modified car, and I've got at least a month of research in front of me. If you think I'm doing something wrong, please don't hesitate to tell me.

When did Lingenfelter start allowing commoners to install their kit? (and by "their kit", I mean the Magnuson kit) Not too bad of a price though...esp for what the 112 kits are going for now.

You are going to have hell getting the LS7 (or an LS3) to function correctly, since they open opposite from the way LS1/2/6 throttle bodies do. You can re-map the ETC tables and get it to work, but the tuner has to be really good at what he's doing or he'll brick the PCM.

Don't think a port and polish will do much on a throttle body, especially on FI.

I have an email from Ryan Gledhill dated December 19th, 2011 (I'm not kidding about doing research), stating that the kit costs $6795 out the door, and that they do not offer financing. I also talked to him on the phone.

Interesting...I saw something about the opposite opening mechanics a while back, but figured I would've seen a lot more complaining about it on this forum if it was a serious problem. I'll contact my tuner and explain the situation to him. He's got 30+ years of experience between mechanical and electronic tuning.

I'm still trying to find an article detailing the physics governing porting a throttle body. I assume that polishing simply reduces resistance into the engine by promoting laminar airflow.

If you have an ls2 it already has a 90mm throttle body. Why do you need another?

TVs 1900, Ed Curtis or pat g cam, patriot gold springs hardened push rods, 160 thermostat ported ls2 tb, new ls2 timing chain. Reliable and strong. Good power and torque.

I would add EPS for cam selection as well, and I would advise against patriot gold duals. Although they are titanium retainers etc, they are still just as heavy as steel so its pointless, get a good set of springs with lightweight titanium retainers.

Apparently, the LS7 part has a more powerful motor and improves throttle response. People have also been complaining that the LS2 TB has issues staying open with FI.

Try this one. You can find additional posts on various LSx forums that seem to back this guy up.

Interesting. I have havn't had those issues with my LS2 TB but I know my car would not drive the LS3. I would like to try and get one to work though.

I tried the ls3 tb and couldn't get it to work. I had a ported ls2 and it had nothing but problems.. I just bought a brand new ls2 tb and has been mint since.. The ported tb had almost no spring pressure where as the new one has a ton.. My guess was that my ported tb was just worn out and being held open.
