well i have the CS mounts installed right now.. im pretty sure they are sagging ..

when the CS mounts were fresh, the headers had clearance. this fixed the rubbing on the steering shaft i was getting because of the busted stockers.. now im getting alittle interference turning right. nothing as bad as the stock MM but not right

Even if i dent the headers.. it still wont make a difference b/c they are DEI wrapped..

They may not be "worse" per se, but they'll be "different". The vibrations you get from busted motor mounts are generally of a lower frequency and more "jerky" or have a "rocking" maybe clunking feel to them.

The vibrations you will feel with stiff solid mounts are higher frequency, more like a strong buzzing. Think more like a phone set to "vibrate" but multiply it by 10.

Vibrations are not my concern. I'll be happier knowing everything is solid and wont be clunking around up there anymore like it was with my busted stockers.

Looks like we will need to clearance the header afterall. Motor mounts did drop the motor a tad. The guys with headers that didn't have clearance issues are prob running 1-3/4. My 1-7/8 are a tight fit and I'll have to dent the header tube just a tad to make it work.

Bump from hell...

My UMIs lowered the motor noticeably which I believe messed with my driveline angles to some extent. The vibrations weren't a big deal until I put a carbon fiber one piece in the car and now, with the giubo gone, there is no rubber anywhere in the driveline which makes the car a little "nervous".

The reason I bumped this...does anyone know how hard the UMIs are? 95A maybe?

OP. I'm not sure why your buddy would exaggerate so much. but, they are not very much shorter. a little. maybe 1/4 at most from what I can remember by sight. but not close to 1-1.5 inches. that is insane.

I had to clearance my long tubes when we did the UMI mounts. I also discovered that because the motor sat lower, I have to jack up the motor from the cradle to change the steering rack, where before I could slide it out without touching anything.

Quick Reply: UMI solid motor mounts are shorter than stock???
