New to the V. Looking for some pointers.
Hey all. I'm new here obviously. I just bought a wrecked 04 CTS-V. I come from the SHO world, I've been doing that for about 7 years or so. With the family and all, SHO's fit the bill for a while. I've had quite a few neat cars, including a turbocharged 90 SHO, supercharged 97 SHO, a V8 swapped 2002 Taurus, and a MTX swapped V8 car.
I looked back and realize that for the money I spent on those shitboxes, I could have a real car. So, I sold most everything and bought this V, and have a few bucks left over.
The problems I'm running into is finding the V only parts. I know that they're expensive, and I'm willing to spend the money. But, I'd rather buy all the parts from one person if possible.
I'm in need of a front bumper cover, both grilles, LH HID headlight, LH fender, and both LH doors. Thats the body stuff. I'll need a PCM as well, and the pigtails for it, as a few wires got ripped up.
Thanks for reading, and I'm looking forward to searching the forum for useful info!
BTW: The car has some upgrades and stuff.
It's an LS6 M6, has a CAI, Long tubes, full exhaust, coil overs, and sway bars. I think that's it. The PO is on here, but I'll let him decide if he wants to chime in.
Nice to meet y'all.
James

I figure about 3k just in parts. I know she wont be cheap to put back together, but I think it's worth fixing.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll give them a call tomorrow!

Don't know how much you are looking to spend, but if Certifit has it, you will spend 1/8th of what you would otherwise. Some of their stuff needs a little massaging, but hell, so do the aftermarket hoods that everyone is buying for $800.
Back in the day, I bought a brand new tailgate for my Powerstroke for $40 and have always gone there for everything I need.
GL with your build!

It's nice to have wholesale connections through work. I ended up getting the bumper cover for $500, straight from the dealer. I ebay'd an OEM lower grille, and took a shot on an aftermarket upper grille.
The question I have is, has anybody ever confirmed that the CTS T/S / fog light assemblies will work in the V bumper?
I also need a PCM... Can you reflash a used PCM with a new VIN?
Car is getting delivered this week/weekend, so I'm getting excited!

Did someone say, SHOs? I had three ('91 black, '92 white, '95 green), but never modded them.
IMHO, if you end up with anything under, say, $10-12k total (assuming you have a salvage title), you're going to have a great track car. Good luck putting it back together!
