As the title says I hate to ask a question that's been asked many times before I'm sure, but I can't find specific info. I just found out today that it looks like I'm going to have to go to Alabama for two months for training. I've been meaning to pick up some new tires and need to do it quick now.
I was looking at 285/35/18s and 255/40/18s on Team Dynamics wheels (18x9).
I don't forsee any rubbing issues or anything, but most with the 285s don't seem to be running TDs.
I currently use the TDs with Hoosier R6s with 275/35/18s all around and they work fine on the track.
I'm looking at the Hankook Ventus V12 evo as a set of 4 only runs $700 plus shipping (I miss the last set of summer tires I bought for $400 shipped).
Any thoughts? Thanks.

Hankook makes a good tire for the money. I'd run either those or the Nitto 555's if you're looking for a good tire for the money. Both have a good looking tread pattern and perform well for the money.
You'll be fine with the 285/35's and 255/40 combo. I prefer the staggered look myself so thats what i would do. Its just a little shorter both front and rear than the factory overall diameter of the 245/45/18.

Ssmokd... I wouldn't run a 265/35 out back with the 255/40 up front. The 255 will be taller than the rear.
Google "tire calculator" and discount tire has a calculator that u can put in ur sizes and compare overall diameters, widths, sidewall height, etc. That will help u keep the tires the same height front and rear.
