I can't speak for the V but on a couple Mustangs they held up after grinding for at least 30k each without ever squeaking or grinding into the spring perch.. I never took them out and checked but they weren't making the typical "WTF! These springs have cut the rubber again" sound!

I have a set that are in flawless condition. Problem is, I am in Afghanistan. I will try to have the wife take some pictures and get them posted.
