So what kind of balancer pulley am I going to need? Is there a special one ? Are there 3 holes to grab onto? Or what?
I know our harmonic balancers aren't keyed to the crank, so I'm guessing I should mark where I take it off, correct??
But what are the torque specs/ procedure?

Also, Mamo wants me to use some Johnson lifters (says they are better than LS7) and hardened push rods (I have to figure out length first)
What do you guys think about lifters? LS7 good enough? Or spend the coin on Johnson lifters that are supposed to be better?

You need a 3 jaw puller. A 3 ton should be plenty most of the time. 5 ton won't fit without some modification.
Putting it back on you use the old bolt to pull it all the way on. Then new bolt torque to 35 ft lbs and then 140 degrees.
I'll be running ls7. I figure my stockers survived fine on this cam/spring setup.

Ok NW 102 TB calls for a 4.25" coupler, and my Volant air intake tube is right about 3.75"......
So will I have to get a 4.5" to 4"?? Will that be too big? Or what should I do here?

I went overkill on everything:
Streetsweeper 236/240 631/612 111
T&D Lightweight 1.7 shaft mount adjustable roller rockers
PAC 1521 springs & R516 Ti retainers, locks & seals
Morel Link bar lifters 184-5206 limited travel
Katech C5R timing chain
Katech blueprinted oil pump
Katech oil cooler adapter
Ron Davis Radiator w/oil cooler
all ARP hardware
ATI 10% balancer
supporting mods already on the car, so except for getting my ETP215 heads, I will be completing my install in September, when it cools down. really hope to have the heads by then, so to do this once.

not really. I have not heard of any breakages, but with the link bar's you don't need them. overkill, that's all. I did hear you should at least purchase new trays when installing lifter though.

Taken from ls1howto.com.....
Once the engine is locked down from spinning, use your large breaker bar, a 3" extension and a 24mm socket on the crankshaft pulley bolt that goes directly into the crank through the center of the large pulley. You may need a 2-3 foot extension of pipe to slip over your wrench to break this bolt free. Once it's broken free, you should be able to unscrew it by hand. Once the bolt is out, either thread it back in 4 full turns, or if you purchased a 1" longer metric crank bolt, install it all the way at this time.
I bought this bolt.....does it matter that it's not threaded all the way down?

A few very isolated cases of trays cracking usually when the lifter turns. I don't think you can go wrong with LS7 but for a little bit of safety get some some with link bars. I have some cheapy lunati ones with bars. A little bit more than stock ls7s.

Just pulled balancer, oil pump, dropped pan a little to get oil pump out, cam's out, timing chain.......time for re-installation!!!
I bought LS7 lifters and a Melling oil pump.
Wish I would've seen your post first ichpen! Oh well.....here's hoping stock trays are good to go.

Got timing chain, cam, oil pump, cover, balancer all back in and torqued. Some of the pan bolts were kinda difficult to get to, but not as bad as I was making it out to be. Praying for no leaks!
Now time to clean the head surface on the block and get ready for some head
