I started reading this post and thought your car had been stolen. I scrolled down a little and started to see a picture of plastic over the window -then the hood. Oh it went downhill from there

So sorry man. You will not have your car back for a Very long time if they try to fix that one. It looks like a go ahead and total to me.

I too thought it had been stolen, I wouldnt even say that fixing it is an option. They did that with my Bird. "O if it gets to be a high cost repair we will total it." yea right. Underestimate to get the car started on - ended up being more than the car was worth by 2x. Its A Damn Cadillac not a corrola. You dont repair cadillacs. You bask in their glory and perfection as the people you pass dream of being the driver. Not talk about about the accidents you had in it. HANDS DOWN no option - not a repair possible. NOT POSSIBLE =D

it does look like it could be fixed but being an autobody guy i would always be able to tell that it was repaired....let alone having tape marks and imperfect paint/blends/tones....but i wouldnt want to throw that on anyones repair list would cost half as much to fix as the cars worth within labor charges and all those parts under the hood with motor mounts and accys...just my thoughts

I would try and demand a new car. IMO there is way to much damage. My friend wrecked his Z about half that bad and his insurance company declared it 'totalled' and gave him what he actually paid for the car.

So sorry to see that happen to your new car. I'm glad everyone is ok. I wouldn't want that car back either. I have Progressive insurance too, and they like to fix whatever they can get by with.....I had a really bent up wheel from a wreck, and they wanted to fix it. My car was five months old, and I wasn't about to have a repaired wheel. Needless to say the body shop got them to pay for a new wheel....

Hopefully they'll consider it totalled....

Man, Ray Charles would even agree that this Caddy is totaled.

Just thank the Lord you are ok. Either way, I'd be calling a lawyer for that lower back and neck pain you are experiencing and that limp you now have from the bum knee

I would demand a new car & except nothing but a newone. That car is too new for you to have to eat the depreciation of already having such major damage. Not to mention they are a limited production car & it's so NEW! If they don't total it, take them to court, it will be worth it in the end.

Good luck though
To be considered totalled it only has to be 80% of the cars value.

I'd go and make sure the engine if toasted....get a sledge hammer, some black clothes & go hop the fence at night time & do some pounding. Maybe someone stole you seats out of it too while it was there?!

well, the seats would be coevred by teh lot's insurance so that's no good.
But that thing better be totalled, as I would NEVER want it after it was fixed. But, like Tony said, it destroyed a lot of V specific parts, and it's so new, the parts are outrageously expensive. It should be totalled no problem. Please let us know. If it gets totaled, let us know who buys the slavage if you can find out as well.

I feel bad for you bro, i have the exact same car out here in so cal. I work at a body shop and i can guarantee that your car is totalled. front and rear damage, airbags deployed, even your wheels and tires looked like they are gone. Just wait until they take the car apart and find even more damage, oh yes, your car is a goner. No shop in the right mind would fix your car. The good news are that your ok bro you can replace your car. If i was in that situation id get me the new 06, that new infrared color looks killer. good luck!

Wow thats painful to look at. Glad you turned out ok. Yea that is def totalled, and if they give you the option of repairing it definately turn it down because as everyone has said there is so much structural damage the car would never be right again. Plus, like someone else already said if the frame/structure of the car is compromised that much then they legally cannot have it repaired and have to total the car. Hope everything works out!
