Default Obx header resonators - do they work?

I'm about to order some headers and was wondering if anyone can vouch for the resonators that come with the obx catless headers. Do they do much for sound control?

My exhaust is currently stock with a muffler delete. I know it will get alot louder with the headers and no cats so I'm hoping those resonators help.

If they help... They don't help much. I ended up taking mine off

I was under the impression they were only there to help you pass a visual inspection that looks for cats. Otherwise, they are hollow. I got the catted version, which still sets off a CEL due to the high flow, and will require a computer tune to shut off the CEL. IMHO, just get the resonator versions. They looks the same, and if an inspector challenges you on whether you actually have cats, it's not like you can cut them open for him. I know you didn't ask, but there you go.

Oh, and OP: you're worried about loudness, but you removed your mufflers?

The mufflers were gone when I bought the car. I'm happy with how it sounds now, but worried it will be on the loud side without the cats.

So are the OBX resonators pretty much a perforated tube with fiberglass packing(glass pack)?

^Essentially, yes. Even the catted version doesn't quiet it down very much. With the cutouts open it's a bit louder than with the stock manifolds and cats.

If it turns out to be too loud, just have some small mufflers welded in before the tips.
