Default Interest in Delrin Cradle Bushings ?

I did some talking to the guy doing some fab work on my car about the Rear Cradle bushing inserts like SW used to sell.
He can get the delrin material and have them machined up if anyone still needs a set

They will only work on the 04/05 V's since they changed the cradle design for 06/07's

Once there's enough guys for 10 sets he will make them.

Here's the info:

1) $250 PLUS shipping

2) Not a company, independent fabricator that did the delrin stuff on my car

3) Right now just getting interest. I want to make sure there's enough people so nobody's wasting time

4) Assuming 10 people are definitely in. He's saying payment would be taken up front, the material takes 1 week to get and then another week to make them all up and send them out

5) I met him at the race shop doing other work and we started talking. He asked if I needed them done while my suspension was in pieces. I mentioned that I already had a set. He took a look and said he has made them before. He asked me if anyone else would need them and I figured there would still be guys looking for them...

So far there's 8 people on CF that are interested

It's also important to note that these bushings will not fit the 06-07 CTS-V cradle.

What are the chances someone will make a set for the 06-07? The "walking out" situation still exists on these cars. Is it a matter of finding a 06-07 subframe to develop a part?

Fuzz if I remember the conversation correctly, he said the cradle design changed in the mounting areas. GM made the gap between the frame and cradle smaller. The end result was that it would have very little effect and they never went through with it.
Naturally a 1 off could be done but as you know that gets pricey.

Will these be incredibly noisy like the bmr setup?

I've got mine in for like 3 years, we spayed them down with lube when they were installed and I've never had any problems, squeaks or creaks.

The GM ones from the TSB back in the day I heard were horrible and squeaked like crazy

My issue is noise transfer not squeaking.

Noise transfer: Yes without a doubt.
I noticed an increase in cabin noise once they were installed. I was easily able to tell my rear was whining more than it should have. Of course, cabin noise is subjective however. Once my rear was swapped with a Gen 4, it didn't bother me. It still transferred more noise than stock but the better feel was something I welcomed as a trade off.

So I am confused. I have an 05, I am upgrading to the newest unit to swap. Does that mean the bushings made for the car are not going to work? Or is it just the difference in sub frames?

04-05 Cradle mount design was different. There are big gaps that the bushings fill in. They redesigned the mounts in the 06-07 version which helped but apparently didn't solve the issue.
Which diff doesn't make a difference, (I have a gen 4 in my 2005) its the year of the car and cradle mounts that determine if they will fit.
In your case they will work...

I'm in, even though the V is a back burner project for me at the moment. Any chance if we get enough people that the price drops to $200, say if we get 20 people lined up?

Doubtful, hard enough getting 10 together at one time let alone 20, plus they've always sold @ 250

Sending you the info just in case...

they work and IMO are worth the 250$ to keep the rear cradle from squirming on hard accel and turning..
