The baffle alone wont be enough. If you drive hard HDPE events and such, and long left turns, it will still leak. I had that problem with the factor 8.8 cover and the little vent piece. After about 10 minutes on hard lefts it would spew out and hit the exhaust and make it look like the car blew up. Causing me to get black flagged. Sucked. Now I have a remote vent. Just an elbow screwed into the vent hole and hose clamped on, first going higher yet then back to a simple filter near the rear bumper.

So if I am reading this correctly, the parts list for someone who is trying to use as many stock parts as possible is:

8.8 pumpkin
CS driveshaft adapter
CS mounting hardware

So where I am stuck at is the axles... What is the cheapest way to get working axles in the car with this setup? What stock parts can you use and what do you need to source?

You need inner stubs and someone to make you axle shafts.

On the CS website I do not see the brackets by themselves. The lowest cost is $2175 I thought I saw somewhere that you could buy the brackets for about $500?? did that change

It is the price of the brackets, hardware + driveshaft adapter and non-upgraded CV Axles.

Default 8.8 31 spline axles

Any body have any issues getting the CS Axles to seat? It seems like it can't make it past the retention ring. Is there a trick to getting it to seat? The stock axles seated easily.

^^^ You have to work at it slowly n methodically, we made the mistake of ramming it in there n cracked the ring. Took awhile to fish the pieces outta the rear. Just keep trying to spin it as your trying to seat it

Thanks, Will give the passenger side axle another try this morning.

They are sending me out another drivers side axle to me next week. I've been searching so many posts, I thought I read the drivers side was hard to install. Something about unbolting the diff and raising it?

Yes, you have to (partially) unbolt the 8.8" to get the driver side axle in/out - it won't clear the subframe with the diff bolted into position. See description of what I did here - https://ls1tech.com/forums/cadillac-...l#post19531523.

Another company offered them, non-vendor here, but due to lack of interest, sold out and shut down shop a year later.

How many folks that are running an 8.8" have gone to solid mounts at the front of the diff? What kit / setup did you use - aluminum bushings from some company, or just a stack of big washers, whatever? I somehow managed to lose one of the front mounting bolts and the bushings on that side, so I need to buy new bushings. I was considering going to solid ones while I'm in there, but looking for feedback before I go that route.

Exchanged emails with Max @ CS, he suggested not going with solid bushings, particularly since I've got the aluminum housing. So, I'll be sticking with poly bushings.

I'm using the Poly ones provided by CS. No issues to date.

Cleaning out the garage and found a complete set of brackets, bolts, bushings and everything. I also have three case, some with gears, a complete cradle with 8.8 setup and 3.55 or 3.73 gears.......
