Default IAT relocation

Started with parts from this thread and adapted it to my stock airbox.

My only concern "after the fact" is that the sensor is pre filter and may pick up dust and debris.

After driving around and watching IAT I can't help to think that by the time the air gets to the motor its much warmer than where the IAT is sitting. If I touch the airbox its cool but the mani is hot. What keeps the motor from knocking on hot days when it thinks the air is much cooler ?

If the IAT is cooler than the actual air intake charge then it would not be leaning it out causing a knock. It would be over fueling as it thinks the motor is getting a cooler more dense air and to add more fuel accordingly. Won't get a knock from too much fuel. Might be poor fuel mileage/not optimum performance/ and more back firing at higher rpms. Correct me if I'm worng...but thats my take on the matter.

I was thinking more of the computer adding too much timing for the actual air temps thus causing knock.

Not sure how much the computer compensates for IAT.
