CV joint part numbers/specs Does anyone have a source for CV joint part numbers including length and spline count? Also it would be nice to have some specs on the Ford Explorer and Cobra CV shafts. I hate to have to buy one to make comparisons. I am hoping to review some of the specs to see if I can have a axle resplined or just have a custom center section made. As I browsed the net I notice that the severe duty CV joints are like $125 each. Combine 4 of those with a custom shaft and you're in business. I am trying to find a viable alternative to $1800 axles.

Sorry, let me be more specific. I need the specs on the outer Cadillac joint and the inner Ford 31 spline joint. Actually my thoughts are to use the Ford Explorer CV shaft and have it resplined for the Caddy outer joint. I need to make sure it is long enough and large enough in diameter. The guy at Moser said $100 per axle which would be for resplining and cutting a groove for a lock ring or $75 if I don't need the groove.
