Why would you put a solid rear end in a V? If you are going to do that I think you lose the novelty of the car and at that point you mine as well build a Mustang or Camaro. Just my 2 cents

Everyone has a fast mustang or camaro. I like building stuff that's different and not everyone has already.

Why not put a solid axle in a V1? Not like its a $50k car anymore... Even at that the "novelty" is gone when you slap twin turbos on it and last time I checked that is badass LOL

Theres no reason that with the right suspension setup you would even know its back there. If you put good parts itll still handle very well, be quiet, and hook better then any IRS setup ever would.

Things are different nowadays, we arent using air bags and lakewood 90/10s.(well some are lol)

lol sure does, like I said any vagina can drop it in drive and push the go pedal putting an auto in a stick car = ask the people that drive the fastest cars in drag racing fastest n/a 1/4 mi drag race cars- 6.40's at 210+ with 5 gears and a man pedal, Judson Massingill fastest N/A LSX camaro 8.01 @ 17x with 5 gears and a man pedal, fastest street car in the country larry larson 6.90's @ 210+ with a man pedal and a manually shifted lenco, NHRA fuel funny car and dragster both have MAN pedals and some have manually shifted 2 speed. IMO autos are for those who cant tune a clutch or not skilled enough to row their own gears, OR dont have the budget to go fast with a real transmission. And if you ask me, especially if you have a "performance" car that sees more street time than track time, and even more so if the car was originally equipped with a manual, yet said car has a slushbox, you might as well turn gay if you are not already

So your saying manual valve body autos are manly and as long as it doesnt shift by itself its ok? Im not quite understanding your logic, but I want to get your approval so I can sleep at night. Obviously your out to prove something so make some passes with your man pedal then return with the results. Your looking at setting a record but havent even made a pass yet have you?

runsfromdacops, if you can hook at the track, I have no doubts you'd run low 10s and even high 9s.

All you would have to do is be ~9.5 to be the fastest V, both V1 and V2, if I recall correctly. At your power level, I'd be focused on traction. I think the power is there.

I don't see the V1 getting into the 9's anytime soon... Mid to high 10s would not surprise me but i'm even having issues thinking that low 10s could happen! If someone made a claim that they ran high 9s or even low 10s I would need proof, ie vids, time slip, witnesses...

Live axle, Big stall, brake, reverse manual vbody th400, big cube small block with a f1R and you got a single digit V1.... street car
Texas tends to favor a strait line
