07 PCM Issue - Battery Drain issue?
I have a 07 CTS-V with 65K miles and have two issues that I think might be related.
1.) on a recent road trip my temp and fuel gauges went dead, along with the cruise control and traction control (light on dash). Car ran fine other that gauges. I got home turned car off and restarted 2 minutes later and everything came back up normal.
2.) The battery on the car is going dead after sitting for a few days without driving. I've replaced the battery but it was drained to the point of not wanting to take a charge.
I have heard that the dash gauge issue can be a precursor to a PCM Failure and I have also read that the battery can get drained by a faulty PCM.
Any Opinions? I've been watching the voltage and it is 14.8-13.8v as I drive, so I don't think its the alternator....
If I replace the PCM, do you have any suggestions on where to get one?

FYI - This sounds more like a bad battery than a bad PCM. When the battery has high internal resistance to ground you will have all kinds of weird issue's that mimic bad modules or bad grounds (well, they actually do have bad grounds, but internal to the battery).
Hope this made sense. If it didn't...buy a decent battery anyway.

As a general rule it's never the ECM ..
I can count on 2 hands how many actual ecms I have found bad over the years...
...any way if it was the ECM ....
I'm not 100% but I believe they are warrantied for 8 years or 80k miles.....
What's the last 8digits of you vin####

Good to know that the ECM has a warranty for that long... My last 8 are 70104875. I replaced the battery and will keep an eye on it to see if it can sit for a week without going dead....
