I think coming off the factory floor it just needs to be quicker than the competition. That way when all the journalists drive the car it comes out on top. That gets the word out to the public. Remember, “Worlds faster Production Sedan.” That sent BMW scrambling to update the M5.

As far as mods go, I think the hackers will crack anything that is not constantly changing or is not military grade. Where they are probably going to get us here in CA is at the smog station. They are going to hook up to your computer and if it’s been modified, simply fail you, like a check engine light. I had my rear O2’s turned off and the smog guy told me most cars fail the new test when that has been done. Luckily mine passed.

There are certainly ways around that. Another PCM, remove the mods, re-register the car in another area. As they make it harder, fewer people will try. Once they have it down to us hard core 1 or 2%, that’s probably an acceptable loss for them.

They said this about the LML(2011-2013) Duramax's, they were wrong.

Damn guys relax, these are all just speculations for the most part.

TT V6 not American; really? Who made the GNX?

I think 380 is enough for a lighter vehicle.....

no way they put the new lt1 in the ATSV, it would eat into the sales of the CTSV.

GM needs to get on their DCT game and start phaseing out the slushbox

The way I look at it the ATS-V will be more of the Boss 302, lighter more track oriented performance car. the CTS-V can be something more like GT500, a heavier higher performance car. That and the CTS-V is nearing a redesign, so they can move it up in price-point and power with the next generation as well.

every other car in the ats-v class will be some version of a forced induction v6. If they can get this car down to 3500lbs range with around 400hp it will a blast to drive. I would take a forged ttv6 over the lt1 personally.

Not if the ATS-V is NA while the CTS-V is FI.

if they want to compete with that segment you build powertrains people in that segment are going to buy. boosted engines are what is moving vehicles in this entry level luxury segment. the cts-v is a good example of how boost and power can give your vehicle enough to stand out from the crowd.

one thing i think is certain with this vehicle...it will have boost and be not as heavy as past V vehicles.
