Default 5.1 surround sound install

Here are pics of the amplifier(s) installed and wiring.

Also the 5.1 decoder.

This is pretty neat, just a fiber optic cable from the Mini Mac to the 5.1 decoder.

I had to replace my Kenwood amp as it only had 4 channels.

I got a MB Quart 6 channel and I am not using one.

Kept the BAJA that powers the sub woofer

When does the popcorn machine get installed?

Did you upgrade the center channel speaker? Where you even using it before?

HAHAHA

I had the "pop" turned off when I had it tuned.

I didn't upgrade the center ch, but I may, WTF everything else got replaced.

It was hooked up before, but I didn't run it through a booster.

With the 5.1 you can tell it is missing, so I am dedicating an amplifier channel for it.

Here is a screenshot of the equalizer function on the ITunes control.

(the big "F" you see on the screen is the protective film)

Did you gut the nav unit and replace it with a high res screen?

No.

I did have to add a few circuit boards.

All the OEM functions work except playing a DVD movie (I don't care about this as I play the dvd movies through the Mini Mac).

The nav works.

The new display is 800x600.

GTFO - is it easily replicated?

It takes micro soldering (SMD) equipment.

I am offering the conversion, PM me if interested.

There are a few others in line.
