I hope this isnt too vague of a question. But what are the diffrences between the 2005 V alternator and the ones one the 2006 and 2007's. I need an alternator for the 2005 and it seems to me that the 2006+ are cheaper and more available, any insight would be appreciated.

Just a guess here (I have no clue). The 05 is an LS6 block, 06-07 is a LS2.

There may be diffs just due to the accessory configs ?

That is correct, however i was looking on oreilly autoparts and i found 3 part numbers for the 2006 5-12783, 11037, and 5-12783M. So when i search for 2005 i get 2 numbers 11037 and 05-0590. Just puzzling that you find 11037 for both cars.

Update looked up AC Delco part number 25766345, and it shows that it is for 04-07 CTS V, and found one new locally for a 300.00 I will install tomorrow and ill let you guys know how it comes out. Thanks for the input!
