Misfire is not a superbig deal ... I also have a tech2 and have worked at the gm dealer for the last 15 years...
Yeah maybe. But I do not have a scan tool and would like to avoid the fee involved with using one.

if you suspect a poor tank of gas why not put some form of octane booster like Torco (if you have cats still) or some Xylene (have to dilute it, its paint thinner) into your gas tank temp if you don't wish to drain your tank? Do you suspect that you got some watered down gas?

Wouldnt rule it out.

I not have cats so Im good there. But some dry gas and octane booster will def be going in the tank soon.

Hope it's just plugs and/or wires. I had something similar happen to me after filling up but turned out one of the wires somehow came undone

I currently have this problem with my 03 silverrado 6.0L & have been fighting it for about a year now. About to give up & take it to the dealer. When it is cold it is real bad, bad enough that it won't go over about 5mph.

Things I have changed/swapped to see if any different:
PLUGS
WIRES
COILS
THROTTLE BODY
MAF
MAP
AIR FILTER
FUEL FILTER
INTAKE GASKETS
CRANK SENSOR
INJECTORS

Missed enough that cats plugged. Please let me/us know if you get it resolved.

Well I changed plugs and wires today. Wires looked fine but I did find one problem (not sure if it is thee problem) but it is def a problem. See if you can spot it by the plugs.

Plugs are =top is even cylinders
bottom is odds
left to right are increasing in #

Thank you sir! I fixed mine as well! I tried posting that from my phone last night and apperently photobucket is not the most smart phone capable.

Also, someone answered the problem correctly. But they posted it on my profile messages...?

Was #7 loose?

I had a random misfire that I couldn't determine the cause until I disconnected the wiring harness at both ends (coil packs and PCM) an cleaned the terminals. I thought I was getting a short where the harness bends under the radiator support.

Yup # 7 came out by hand.

The sad truth of the matter was I thought i had and exhuast (ticking) leak nope. I had a compression (ticking) leak <- awesome.
