Default Brakes

Fitted AC Delco Pro pads and Bosch "quiet" coated rotors. Also, fluffed and buffed my head light.

Faccc. The caliper bolts were in there tight. They were difficult to reinstall as too.

On the actual LS3 heads, they got hollow intake valves. I’d assume just because they are enormous and rev to 6500. The exhaust valves are solid from what I can tell.

How much weight is left on ea valve from hollow to solid, did ya know this?

I lost 10g ea by swapping from solid to hollow on my new Ferrea's in TFS heads...

A hollow LS3 supposedly is right at 89g. Mine should be around 84-85g with them turned down to 2.04. I plan on pulling one and weighing it when I get home. The L92 valve is supposed to be 108-109g.

My stock LS6 valves are right around 74g on the the intake and 65g on the exhaust. And they are bringing some darn good money right now too. I should be able to sell the LS6 heads pretty easy.

- Fixed my sunroof by breaking it. Went out to a wicked hot car, opened the windows and the sunroof to vent out the heat while the A/C started to kick in. Went to close the sunroof and it partially closed, then went back to full open. Pulled over and stood on the door sill and looked in from above as I tried to close the sunroof again. There was a plastic/rubber strip in the driver side rail - part of the top of that strip was torn and was catching the sunroof when it tried to come forward. Looked at the passenger side rail and that strip wasn't there, so I yanked it out of the driver side rail. Sunroof closed, problem solved!

No idea what that strip is called or what it's for, but I figured since it was already missing from the passenger side, I wasn't going to hurt anything by pulling it out!

Wondering if I have the same issue. Can you take a pic with the little cartoon arrow pointing where the strip used to be?

Sure, I'll try to remember to do that tomorrow. I still have the rubber strip thing around here somewhere, too... at least, I don't think I tossed it yet. If I find that, I'll post a pic of that, too.

A couple days delayed, but here are the sunroof pics. First shows the groove that the rubber/plastic strip came out of, indicated with the 3 yellow arrows. It's the narrow groove (maybe 3/16" wide) closest to the opening to the inside of the car, not the 1/2"+ wide groove.

Here's the rubber/plastic strip, kind of lying on its side. The piece in my hand is the very top of it, and is what was starting to crack away from the rest of the strip.

And here's the strip showing how it sits vertically in that narrow groove. I never bothered to look under the glass to see what was actually catching on the strip, I just yanked it out.

I think this is my issue too. Will check it this evening. I may owe you a big hug for getting my sunroof working on the cheap! I DO hope that's not a leak seal or something silly...

Relocated my pac box from under the seat to under the rear fuse box, also whacked off the old iPod connecter from the cable to put a usb on it so I can swap my pone and iPod around.

Apparently broke something in the clutch pedal? Not really sure.

During my morning commute Tuesday I pushed down on the pedal and heard/felt something pop. Clutch continued to operate, but the pedal just didn't feel right, and would kind of hang up partway down. I made it to work, but decided to swap cars later in the morning (so I wouldn't have to drive the car in afternoon rush hour traffic with a suspect clutch) - went out to the parking garage and the car wouldn't start. Poked my head under the dash, clutch position switch was in place and plugged in. Cycling the pedal by hand felt and looked normal. Pop-started it and drove it home; wouldn't start once I got it home. Maybe something failed inside the clutch position switch? I'll have to pull that off later to check, but I'm heading out of town for a few days, so that'll wait until my return.

AAIIIC, if you reinstalled your clutch return spring, it probably just broke and both pieces are sort of hanging in there.

Same thing happened to me with 9,000 miles on the odometer. Removed the spring and never looked back.

No, the spring is still on the shelf in my garage. I should have time to look at it Sunday to see what I can find.

If you need visual reference I have an entire clutch pedal assembly off the car that I can photograph.

I had mine in the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix car show again. Going back to watch the racing today. Some guy asked me if I bought it from a guy named Brian. Does 07CTSV have a stealth grey one with Black TD wheels? I think they meant him, pretty sure he’s not far from here too.

Oh ****! I didn’t know twins fit upfront.

Had to throw a battery charger on it since I can’t find a comfy driving position.
