The wider tire you have the easier it will spin in the rain. You have less weight per square inch. And more surface for the water to push up against.

After 10k spirited driving miles they still look like new. Performance wise I would consider them average at best. I can spin 285's way to easy and I consider these tires below average in the rain. *** end slides around. I got a great deal so I'm pleased but I will not purchase these again.
This is good info, thank you. Now may I ask if you have a picture of what 285/40's look like please?

I agree but I was running Goodyear GSD3's prior (275/40/18's) in the rear which run wide, almost like 285's and they were no where as easy to spin. Actually they were very impressive.

The 285 looks sexy! Is it my phone or does the tire bulge over the rim a little bit? Thank you for the pictures

I told him that I've been reading that tires don't last long on the V's and he said that the Nt555's should be a great summer tire and still last 25k miles.

So I figured I would ask you guys if anyone has had experience with this tire.

Thank you,

I ran the NT555's in 245/45 and 275/40 for about 12k miles and I loved them. On warm days they held 450rwhp/430rwtq fine and when I sold the car the tread was still in great shape and I wasn't easy on the rears. Unless you have more power I wouldn't hesitate to run those tires.

Thanks for all the comments guys. Makes me confident in my choice. I've made up my mind I'm gonna do 245/45 front, and 275/40 rear nt555's sometime next week

Wow, that 275 looks great! I may hold off on tires a few weeks so I can decide if I want to powder coat the wheels black while I'm at it
