Cts-v weight reduction.

Rather than weight reduction, maybe focus on increased buoyancy? I think it'll be cheaper and faster to just stuff your car full of helium balloons. It'll be lighter and you'll still have all the luxury features and electrical wires.

not everyone likes how heavy this car is, dropping weight out of it is performance #1. not sure why thats so odd when we drive a sports sedan thats supposed to take turns.
and these cars are very cheap now, no reason to not find ways to push its dynamic envelop in different ways. be like naf....but on a budget. my last platform had a guy who dropped a ton of weight out of his car and was pretty quick for little money spent.

I lol'd^
I've seen people go to extremes to lose weight out of the car. But hey, if it's a street/drag car every bit counts. If it were me I'd start elsewhere than getting into the wiring. I wire tucked a VW, and it all turned out fine but it was a night mare, I would only go to it last before everything else. I'm sure lots can come out of these cars elsewhere

Gut the front inner doors, replace glass with lexan, tear the rear doors down to skins, weld to the body, then go nuts with one of these:
Assuming you're going to cage it, you can probably remove a lot of redundant chassis reinforcement as well...

It could happen! But yea your probably right. But there is alot of wire that's inside that's not being used like airbags, power windows, sub in back of car, heated seat wires and just **** you know? Can I just cut them as far back as possible?
Also yes I still do have sunroof...might take a look at that tonite if I get the chance.

my wiring knowledge on vehicle harnesses is at the extent of stripping down the harness on newer fuel injected bikes... cutting out what is not needed and rerouting what is needed. For the purpose of putting bike motors in 4 wheel vehicles... sooooo that being said.. dont be suprised if everything is tied into everything.. you may remove the power window wires and find out that something important was tied into that wire and needs it. Something stupid like that. So many wires are tied into each other. Becaureful and thourough.. My honest opinion is that for the amount of time and effort to strip un needed wiring, you wont get much in return.
unless i read wrong or missed it.. you said the car has no engine or tranny?? so what are you plans? maybe remove ALL wiring and rewire with whatever engine trans combo you geT?

I rewired my last track car. The amount of time spent de-pinning connectors, slicing open brittle loom, and re-wrapping everything while on the kitchen floor was a complete waste of time and I'd never do it again, unless the car was riddled with electronic gremlins. I'd spend that time behind the wheel and make yourself a better driver.
