Quench= the distance between the very top of the piston and the head deck. When setting or measuring quench you take the measurement of the piston crown to block deck(piston in/out of the hole and gasket thickness. That gives you the quench.

I used Autozone sae30 non detergent oil for the first two oil changes and then switched to Valvoline VR1 racing. I changed it at like 100 miles and again at 300 then at 500. That oil was recommended to me by the builder and Race Proven Motorsports who have built plenty of 1,000+rwhp vettes. Good choice on the wiseco pistons btw thats what they recommended for me.

Many of the reaching oils have lower detergent levels. Which is great for reaching since you change the oil every weekend. I like the vr1... I use it in my dirt bikes. Very good stuff. But those get oil changes every few months.

Yes, plenty of updates. I had forgotten about this thread.

The car with the new motor has about 1400 miles on it so far with not a single issue. I just installed the DW301, Racetronix hotwire kit, and Siemens 60# injectors yesterday. I also installed the D2 coilovers over the down time and I'm quite pleased with them for the $400 I paid.

Overall, quite pleased with how everything worked out. I've still been working to fine tune the car with the new fuel setup, but otherwise she's running perfect.

Awesome. Your car has gone through a real transformation. It must be a whole new animal! I'm jealous. I've started to refer to mine as the POS-V!

I missed this thread somehow the first go around. Thank you for owning a camera other than an iPhone and excelling at the art of macro photography. Glad to hear you're back up and running.

What kind of fuel pressure are you running with the DW301?
