Just got off the dyno

Just got off the dyno
Alright guys, mods are: K&N intake, super ported LS2 manifold, Kooks 1 3/4 headers, high flow cats, Magnaflow mufflers. Made 351/340, untuned. That is horribly anemic for the parts I have, I feel. 72,500 miles, freshly changed oil (Castrol Syntec Edge), fairly new AC Delco plugs, etc. Tempted to do a compression test, although the motor does not eat oil or sound unhealthy. Just feeling a little bummed.

Yeah, I get that...but aren't people putting down 360 with fewer mods? Not sure if you've heard of Josh Armstrong, but he did the porting on the manifold. He claimed pretty good gains untuned, although he comes from the GTO world. I'd like to think it wasn't just a sales gimmick, but it looks like it didn't help me anymore than a stock manifold.

Anyone else notice that puff of smoke toward the end?
Get it tuned dude, you'll be able to take advantage of the increased airflow. Many people find a motor's ECU will compensate for about 20% airflow... You throwing down 350-360 ish is right where I would assume the stock computer's limits are.

It is dyno dependent. You can't compare what other people are getting. My heads, cam, headers, full exhaust LS2 only made 400/400 on the dyno but I pulled on Maggied V's that claimed way more Hp. You don't have anything wrong with your motor, no need for a compression check, get a decent tune done and you'll be amazed at the difference.
Even 'Super ported', the LS2 intake manifold sucks.

I'm skipping the bolt-on tune and going straight for a cam (Torquer v2). I just wanted to dyno before I got the cam so I knew if something was wrong and also to see the delta. To add insult to injury, I brought my friend with me who has a 2013 5.0. With a canned tune, intake, resonator delete, and catback, he threw down 389...those motors just aren't fair.

If your'e gona wait till you cam it before you tune, just take it easy. You don't want to do any damage.

Interesting. Out of all the reading on here I've done, never seen it mentioned that running bolt-ons required a tune or damage would ensue. I'm used to that requirement on a boosted 4 cyl (used to own a Mazdaspeed 3), but I see lots of guys on here with headers and intake, no tune. I definitely don't beat on my cars, but I do take it to red line a few times a day. I will lay off it until cam time, if you insist, though.
