Does he know the name of the shop or a guy who used to work there so we can look into this? or some pics of the underside of his car? ask him if he has the stock fuel tank in place and was that modded at all.

and by his shop does he mean his own shop? if so then he could answer those questions pretty easily. the general info is useful even if people never make use of it.

Its got built lower end and stuff. Its got a Callie's, Manley, JE rotating assembly. I'm sure its not stock compression anymore.

Edit.... This thing is 20 minutes from me... If anyone wants it checked out let me know. I'll head down and scam some more pics and such.

Well....duh! Lol I'd drive down to go for a ride. But I'd love to see that rear end. Also, possibly a dyno sheet.

I doubt they let people test drive it. Especially people that have no interest to buy it.

Damn that a pretty good deal for 1k hp! I couldn't even buy my V2 stock for that.

They are different. Methanol is used for increasing knock resistance, n2o does not.
Power is extracted mainly from being able to increase timing with Methanol or Methanol/water mix.

I might have missed it, but did that car retain the dry sump? The battery is in the stock position, so no?

Wait....if a V2 craddle bolts up to a v1, (with the exception of the gas tanks), does that mean that a V2 diff and axles will fit a v1 cradle IF the mounting points r to be welded to the v1 to fit the v2 diff?

If so; then...

V1 cradle -$200 (i dd my car so id need another one)
Oem V2 diff - $500 (ebay)
Oem V2 axles $ 600 (ebay)

And i can just weld the new diff mounting points on the v1 cradle and end up with a v2 diff, which is a lot stronger than the v1 diff and itll only cost $1200-$1500 ( not as good as an 8.8, but a whollllle lot cheaper?

I guess IF either the v2 axles fit in v1 outer CV's or v2 complete axles/cvs fit in v1 knuckles..

Can this be a possiblity??

Many of those questions could be answered if the seller had some pics of the setup.

I had a camaro before this v...the tracks I parked in before vs now are a few inches narrower (camaro is wider than v)....surely some of that is axle length? No? Gen2 ctsv and gen5 camaro share platform.

I like where you're going here but you forgot the driveshaft which would be 200 got lucky bare minimum.

Budget 2500 for the swap including fab work. Might as well go bulletproof and Bolt in at that point.

Your right about the DS, but maybe we can get lucky and itll bolt up? Regardless, i have a DS shop close to my house who has shortened and balanced DS's for me in the past for $75.

Fab work will be done by me, so it wont cost me anything, and im not sure how much power the v2 diff/axles can hold, but im sure its alot more than my stock diff and i dont plan on ever making 1000whp (although it would be nice, but im ok with future plans of 600-700whp, which im guessing the v2 stuff will hold)

I think its worth looking into, if the v2 stuff only requires the new diff mounting points on the v1 cradle.

A good fab guy could put a 5 ton Rockwell in it if they wanted to so i know it could be done but the driveshafts are a little finicky in these things. You should start a new thread if you move forward.

Good luck!

The diffs are different. You would need the whole rear end.

Too large of a job, just trade your V1 for a V2.
