Nah, not negative; more of a joke that you seem to get lucky with a lot of parts on this car (*cough* your diff *cough*) It's just interesting that simply changing the carrier bearing has less vibration than a "high quality" 2-piece from DSS, which also has a high quality carrier bearing. Kinda goes to show that bigger/more expensive isn't always better. I'm curious why DSS discontinued their 2-piece.

I'm on my way up there now so ill ask.

Brian, have you ever measured the angles on your output shaft and pinion shaft? Wondering how the 8.8 install affects the driveline angles.

Its not luck. Its a lot of testing and work to get to the point of finding the right combo for the drive train. Brian isn't the only one who is testing these. There are 5cts-v...and several gto's.. Everyone is vibration free since we went to the drilled 50a and solid 30a.. 2 cars have a drilled 60a without issues. Its not luck, its hard work, trial and error, and a lot of money for tooling ....and small one off orders..

I suspect a windfall headed your way, then.

If they largely turn out how Brian's did, this is the ONLY sub-$1000 affordable solution to a problem that every single V has or will have.

Oh yeah, I wasn't calling your solution "lucky", I was just poking fun at Brian. I have complete faith in this product.

IDK about a winfall.. We dont clear much money after expenses. The cost of the parts, all the materials like towels, gloves, orings, cv grease, time--several hours to complete this procedure WITH the proper tools and Operations we developed, packaging time and materials, shipping costs, gas to drive back and forth to the shop, gas to deliver the package to a drop facility.. WHEW... costly!! BUT I enjoy developing a product that can help the V community.

The core program makes me cautious.. Its easy for a shaft to look fine and appear to function fine for all intensive purposes but who knows its history or what damage my lay under the surface of things. Id sure hate to service and send someone a shaft that self destructs shortly after, thats not good for anyone. I was able to source a driveshaft balancing service within an hours drive from my town, and that is something we are surely looking into. BUT any expense is going to raise the cost. My person experience with the one piece shafts has been a bad one. Lost time, lost money, tons of hassle and frustration.. I very much enjoy my stock 2 piece with the poly and so does everyone else that has them.

I'd definitely be in for this deal when the core program is available.

Brian, when you said you have the prototype 8.8 adapter for the stock driveshaft, is this 54inchez prototype or CS's?

Because your soft, flimsy OEM rubber surround has sagged over the years. It happens to everyone

I think everyones' does. There's a short useful life of rubber dampening parts and V1's are coming up on 11 years old.

Is there an option for just replacing the rubber in the field. My low mileage bearing is perfect. Just the "saggy rubber" we been talking about. Maby one with a slit in it so it can be replaced without separating the shafts.

Even the new OEM rubber units we install will eventually sag. They dont quite sit centered with the weight of the shaft on them.

Quick Reply: Replace that driveshaft bearing!!!
