I hope your valves didn't drop far enough to fall out of the valve guides.

I used the TDC method...I hope you realize you dodged a bullet. I'm sure you didn't have a 16 hour head pull planned.

If you dropped a valve in a piston that was at BDC, then you sir are proper Forked.

Length of the stroke = 3.622 inches; Length of the valve 4.867 inches.

Touche. But answer me this, when you drop a valve are you going to use the piston to push it back into place, while hoping that it goes straight and causes no damage to the valve guide/stem? Also, that length has to be considered as well. The valve may be longer then the stroke but what is the distance from the (protrusion) in the intake or exhaust runner to the valve seat? That has to be added to the stroke since if it falls past that you're again, proper forked.

Hmmm, so everyone can just drop valves with impunity, eh. I still don't like it when the valve drops more than a few tenths when I'm doing springs.

Would probably be able to pull the valve back up with a strong pen magnet.

I got the valves back up by cranking the engine by hand pushing air pressure on the valves
