We just replaced the sunroof in my freinds V and he still has the old one. I'll have him weigh it.

I do like my sunroof but I wouldn't mind getting rid of it just because the switch has a mind of its own, plugged drain lines that leak in the car, and wind noise at speed.

No I bought the car purposely without a roof because I planned to race it.
But, if I had a roof car and was going to convert it, no doubt I would have a carbon fiber insert made. You might even be able to adapt an M3 delete panel...

I honestly think it's cheaper and easier to get more power out of an LS than it is to reduce weight on a Cadillac.

Off topic, but how much work was that project?

It was pretty much a pain in the *** lol A, B, and C pillars had to come down. Weather strip on all 4 doors. Sun visors and lights and handles. Then we couldn't get the headliner out with the seats still in the car so we just layed the seats down as far as they would go. Then there are 4 drains, 1 connector, and 9 or 10 bolts that actually hold the sunroof assembly in.

Yes been looking at replacing everything.

Nothing yet.
Someone already weighed it for me; it was around 37.5lbs and with the bolts and stuff probably 40; with adding the delete panel and new headliner, 35?

I want a CF replacement panel as well. There seems to be enough interest that I would think somebody would be interested in making them. I wouldn't think that it's a complex part. That said, I believe these guys will make a panel based off of your provided measurements: http://www.kognitiondesign.com/. I haven't been to the site for awhile, and the internet is so horrible here I can't get it to connect now.
