Default Having problems putting into gear

When my V is off or idling it's very difficult to put it into gear but once I rev it up a little it goes right in with no problems. Does anybody know what could be happening?

Check the hydraulic fluid in your clutch reservoir.

Occasionally 1st gear can be a pain to get into. shifting to second then first seems to work for me. I have talked to some Vette guys who experienced the same thing.
