Default chevk engine light on BANK1

so i bought this 06 ctsv on ebay from PA and brought it down here to California, car runs great, right when i was pulling into to smog shop the check engine light came on anyways, my friend conected the obd2 and it came out as bank 1 being bad P0420
a buddy of mine suggested i clean the 02 sensors, has anyone here tried this?
i dont want to replace the cat since im putting kooks and high flow cats, anyone have an idea?

could i possibly put the high flow cats on my stock exhaust? thanks

Take the o2 sensor from the other side and see if the code follows the o2 sensor. If it does get a new sensor. If not then probably the cat.

Do not clean an O2 sensor.

Same thing happened on my brothers 07 but his shows p0430 so he is going to switch the sensors to see if it still does it. It has been smelling a little like fuel when he goes wot not sure if that has anything to do with it.

If it's the cats and not just the o2 sensors could he have hi flow cats installed with the stock manifolds? If so do those have to be tuned?

The rear O2 sensors either need to be tuned out or spaced out of the exhaust flow. I'm not sure a spacer or even high flow cats would pass in California. Do they do a strict visual or tailpipe smog test?
