Well hope all is well with everyone! I was going to replace engine this winter as my 162K LS2 is getting pretty tired. I wanted to replace with LS2 long block so I could swap over all of my accessories. I called a vendor and said the same and he said "if that is the only reason you want to stick with LS2, then you can also go LS3 and LS7 because all the bolt holes and external dimensions on all 3 blocks are the same, kind of opens up your options". I didn't know that, and if true then I can go with other options like LS3 427 vice LS2 416. Is that true? Can all of my pretty much new LS2 accessories swap directly over to an LS3 or 7 block with 58x? Thanks.

The reluctor is on the crank. It's not a part of the block. Yes, you can use the other blocks. Your new looking block would need to be built with the correct reluctor.

But wow the good thing about being noobish is you learn alot. I just listened to ppl at work naysayin. I want a na 600 HP build. Although the accessories would fit now, that doesn't mean the intake would I'm guessing. Meaning an LS2 intake won't fit an LS3 so that's another significant bill with rails etc.

Just get a stock LS3 manifold with stock rails and have the manifold ported by a good shop. Or sell all the stock stuff you can and find a used FAST. Either way, won't cost a lot. An LS3 block and heads are going to cost a ton more.
